We visited a beautiful theatre in a suburb of Chicago that forges a "connection between theatre and urban life" in a village setting. A lithe lattice of cedar planks wraps around the glowing edifice to form an iconic gathering place for the community. The structure breathes new life into the 25-year-old Writers Theatre, accommodating a growing audience while still maintaining intimate access to the players.
